CIPR 2026, Russia’s largest conference on the digital transformation of key industrial sectors, has opened in Nizhny Novgorod. The event brings together Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, members of the government, governors, company executives, and researchers. This year, HSE University has become an official partner of the conference. Vice Rector Elena Odoevskaia and other university representatives will take part in expert sessions and sign a number of agreements, while the university’s exhibition stand will showcase a range of digital developments.

HSE University and Moscow DIT Partner to Advance 5G and 6G Networks
The Moscow Department of Information Technology and HSE University have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of innovative development of the capital’s IT infrastructure. The parties agreed on joint research into modern and promising communication technologies, including 5G and 6G, as well as AI, the Internet of Things, and other smart city technologies.

HSE University Opens Access to Microdata from Study on Economic Behaviour of Russians
As part of the project ‘Economic Behaviour of Households in Russia’ (EBHR), HSE University is opening access to nationally representative primary datasets. This data makes it possible to explore various aspects of well-being and the economic behaviour of Russian households across different income groups in contemporary economic conditions.

HSE MIEM and AlphaCHIP Innovation Centre Sign Cooperation Agreement
The key objectives of the partnership include joint projects in microelectronics and the involvement of company specialists in supervising the research activities of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Plans also focus on the preparation of joint academic publications, the organisation of industrial placements and student internships, and professional development programmes for the company’s specialists.

HSE Scientists Contribute to Development of Postquantum Ring Signature for Sber
A new cryptographic data protection mechanism has been jointly proposed by experts from the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics, Sber, and QApp. The researchers have developed a postquantum ring signature scheme that ensures anonymity (within a defined group of participants), as well as the integrity and authentication of the source of digital transactions, even in the presence of an adversary equipped with a quantum computer.

HSE University and SAFC Launch Cooperation on Nature and Climate Projects in Kazakhstan
The Сentre of Digital Technologies for Nature-Based Solutions at HSE University and the Kazakhstan-based company SAFC are planning joint work on the implementation of climate projects in Kazakhstan. Specialists from the HSE centre visited the site of the country’s first forest climate project and signed a cooperation agreement with SAFC.

HSE University Presents Game Engineering Innovations at Moscow International Video Games Week
HSE University recently participated in a key 2025 gaming industry event, the Moscow International Video Games Week (MIVGW). HSE MIEM took part in several formats, hosting an open day for its online Master’s programme ‘Digital Engineering for Computer Games’ and a workshop ‘Gamedev Automation: How AI is Changing the Approach to Virtual Simulation Design.’ Furthermore, the ‘Game Engineering and Interactive Systems’ workshop and indie studio Bear Head Studio showcased their new game engine—the Claw Engine—at the exhibition area at Skolkovo. Experts of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science joined in panel discussions.

Institute for Robotics Systems Established at HSE University
As decided by the HSE University Academic Council, a new Institute for Robotics Systems will be established at HSE, and with a strong fundamental base. It will cooperate with relevant departments across the university and engage students and doctoral candidates in research and development (R&D). First Vice Rector of HSE University and Director of the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge, Leonid Gokhberg, discussed the expected practical results and the framework for cooperation with an industrial partner.

AI Lingua Included in Compilation of Best International AI Practices in Higher Education
HSE University has been acknowledged internationally for its pioneering efforts in integrating artificial intelligence into higher education. The AI Lingua Neural Network developed at HSE was included in the renowned international collection ‘The Global Development of AI-Empowered Higher Education: Beyond the Horizon.’ The compilation was prepared by the Institute of Education (IOE) of Tsinghua University with the support of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and a global advisory committee, which included experts from Oxford, UCL, Sorbonne, and other leading academic centres.

HSE Tops Ranking of Universities Participating in Priority 2030 Programme
The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education has published an updated list of participants in the Priority 2030 programme. A total of 106 universities will receive support this year. HSE University was included in the first group and topped the ranking.
